When at the crossroads, the biggest challenge is knowing which way to take. So it is with life and God knows fully well that knowing the direction to follow in this life is one of man's greatest challenge. That was why He sent His Son to lead us back to Him. Would you follow your own clearly mapped out directions or follow Jesus and have life?
The easy way is to let Jesus lead. How does he do that and how does that solve your problem? Jesus is the Way. Some times we may know the way but afraid to go all alone while so many times we are not sure if it will lead to our destination. Without direction we are simply lost and need help and one of the natural things to do is to ask for direction.
I remember how I got confused and lost while looking for the venue of an office I had travelled several miles to visit for the first time. I got directions to the place before setting out but on getting to the area, I asked for the office and I was directed to go straight down. After walking for a while, I asked people and they said they were not sure where I was going. So I decided to turn back because I was not sure if I was heading to my destination. I started walking round until I veered off the location completely only to realize that I was lost!
When I was tired and exhausted, I asked again and I was given direction that led me back to where I had turned back. This time I continued and got to the harbour. I made further enquiry and was told the location of the office. My pronounciation contributed to the problem since I was a stranger there. I experienced what it meant to be lost.
If you have never been lost then you may not appreciate being on the right track that much. God knows that many people have difficulty in finding the right way and that was why he sent Jesus as the Way. When you follow Jesus, you will never miss your direction although you will face a lot of distractions from the the world on your way. You have to be sure and keep going, the compass is the Scripture. You may not see many people going that way. Sometimes it appears lonely and unadventurous because friends and family are not going that way.
Let Jesus lead you like the pilot who you don't know leads you to your destination. Funny, how you do trust the judgment of the pilot but question the authority of Jesus to lead you. When you are at the crossroad of life, open the Bible and let Jesus tell you how to live so that you can arrive where he has destined for you. If still unsure, open your mouth in prayer and he will lead you!
Jesus said whoever follows him will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life. The Devil knows this too. The Devil knows this too and that is why he creates a lot of distractions to make you lose track and never get to your destination.
If you follow Jesus, you will know the truth because Jesus is the Truth and he will set you free from every distraction and confusion. God sent Jesus to lead you back to Him. No one gets to the Father except through Him. Following Jesus leads us to our destination-LIFE because Jesus is Life.
I have been following Jesus and I am glad because I am on track. I am enjoying His blessings and faithfulness. Make that turn to Jesus the Way today.
