My little son told me his dream

What do little children think in their minds and do they dream when they sleep? I got home from the office one evening and we sat beside each other on the sofa to watch TV. Then my son started by saying, "Daddy, I slept today while you were in the office". He hardly sleeps in the afternoon unless he is forced. He said while he was sleeping he saw a piano. So I asked him if it was a big or small one. He said big. Again I asked who was playing and he said he was the one. "When I woke up, I did not see any piano," he said. Then I believed my son actually dreamt when he slept. He was enrolled in a music school and had attended his first music lesson a few weeks back.
I am not in a hurry to drive him towards a particular career but I really want him to develop skills along with his formal education. Most people are always in a hurry to drive their children into one career path or the other because they think it is prestigious or lucrative. This is the 21st century and everybody is in the fast lane. Of course I would like to show off my son if this dream becomes a reality. I grew up without paying much attention to other useful skills apart from academic skills  and I do not want my son to tow the same path. I was brought up with the belief that the only way to success was academic work. Rich Dad, Poor Dad tells me a different story. How are you training your child? It will be nice to know how other parents groom their kids for the future in this new age.
