Two poor friends cannot help themselves. Two or more people in the same condition cannot help themselves. One must have something better than the other if they are to make any reasonable progress in life.
There was a time I did not understand one of the subjects I was being taught in school and exams were approaching. I tried all I could on my own to dedicate more time so that I could catch up with my mates. I was used to learning on my own but this time it was not working.
I eventually asked my friend to schedule a time to put me through. He did and there was no shame in asking for help at all. It was good to have a friend who was better than me in that subject. I was better off because I ended up doing excellently well in the exams.
To be successful in life you need others who have succeeded to lead you. If you want to start a business, would you go to someone who has failed in the same business or to someone who has succeeded in it?
Jesus was successful and that is why we can follow Him. If He had failed in His business of saving men from sin and failure then there would be no sense becoming His disciples. The disciples failed in their fishing business when they caught nothing but Jesus came and showed them how to catch fish that broke their nets. I would follow Him for more lessons instead of struggling with methods that failed me.
Infact most successful people leverage on other people's knowledge to build their success. If you surround yourself with like-minded people it will be more difficult to breakthrough. You may have marginal increase but you won't do more than that.
Mt 15:14..and if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. KJV
If you are struggling with something, look for someone who can lead you to breakthrough. Don't keep struggling in ignorance. Don't wait till you fall into the ditch. You do not fail when you ask for help from those miles ahead of you.
If you want to lead others to Christ you must have your own personal encounter and testimony. You must have been brought out of darkness into His marvelous light.
