And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
Luke 13:9 KJV
We have been blessed to be fruitful and multiply right from creation. It is an offense not to be fruitful. In this parable, the vineyard owner God wanted to cut a fig tree that had been fruitless for three years because it had no reason to occupy space. The vinedresser, Jesus pleaded that he will take care of it for one more year after which a decision can be taken. The fig tree could represent Israel or anyone. The one year of caring for the tree is the opportunity to bear fruitful according to the Spirit.
You have to bear fruits to account for all the good things God has done for you. Everyone that does not bear fruit is not welcome in the kingdom. Life in Christ is a life that thrives. God has given us so much grace and opportunity to repent and accept his forgiveness. By all means bear fruits.
