No one to blame

And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
John 9:2 KJV

The disciples asked a lot of questions because they were learning from Jesus. Their questions are the type of questions we would have asked. Jesus used every opportunity to teach them and the lessons are useful to us in this generation.

We always look for something or someone to blame but Jesus teaches that it is not always the case. The man in this case was born blind but not as a result of anyone's sin. Why then was he in this undesirable condition? God wanted to display his work through this man. The man could have been healed instantly buy he was sent to a pool. How would he get there since he was blind? It was a test of his faith in Jesus. If he had conditioned his mind that he can never see again or that it must have been his parents sins then he would not make any attempt to locate the pool of Siloam. Following simple instructions from God can make big impact in our lives. It is not enough to know but to put into practice what we know.
